This live show by Jules (pop-folk) and Laura Polence (modern mixed with Latvian folk) is part of ‘Live at our Place’, a series of monthly intimate concerts by Treehouse NDSM’s musicians-in-residence. On an evening dedicated to singer-songwriters, our industrial Pavilion building will be turned into the musicians’ own living room, tuned to their own particular style and vibe.
We invite you to our place, grab a drink, sit on the couch (or dance!) and enjoy the tunes that our talented community is working on during their stay at Treehouse NDSM.
ABOUT JULES
Jules is the singer-songwriter project of Julia Rosenhart. After living in Antwerp for 4 years to study ‘Kleinkunst’, she returned to The Netherlands. Treehouse NDSM provides her with a workspace where she can experiment with vocals, synthesiser and piano. As she is also a theatre performer and writer, she enjoys adding theatrical elements to her musical performances.
ABOUT LAURA POLENCE
Laura Polence is a singer, pianist, composer and mime artist from Latvia. Together with her band, she produces modern compositions and Latvian folk music that create a unique mixture of sounds and atmosphere. Over the years, she worked with different musical ensembles and toured the world for a few years with the bands Snowapple, How Town, Kaja Draksler Octet and Latvian Voices. The expressive way of singing, playing and improvising makes the performance of the Laura Polence band theatrical, exciting and varied.
ABOUT TREEHOUSE NDSM
Treehouse NDSM is an arts incubator located in Amsterdam’s creative heart. Our goal is to foster the growth of creatives from diverse disciplines and help them bring their projects to life. We do this by offering 105 individual and affordable studios for rent, access to exhibition spaces, and the opportunity of being part of a vibrant artistic community.
