Polar Nights – Unscripted Theatre

Come watch a beautiful play that will take you into the darkness of the far North. 🌑 The story is set in the early 20th century when a small group of explorers live together in an igloo for months during the polar night.

Inspired by his artistic residency in the Arctic Circle, French director Gael Doorneweerd-Perry created this immersive play. ❄️ It shows how these pioneers cope with the polar night’s cold, isolation, and challenges.

The show covers themes such as survival instincts, comradery, and the human obsession with exploring “virgin spaces”.

What makes Polar Nights ✨extra special✨ is that a new story is played each night. The actors build the story on the spot, while a British sound engineer adds live sound to the performance. The visual elements are also impressive, with a transparent igloo on stage.

And yes, the posters of this show are also handmade cyanotype photographs, a printing technique from the same era.

You are warmly welcome to share this play, glühwein, and an outside fire with us. 🔥
