North Sea String Quartet – Amarte Studio Concerts
Start time: 20.00h
Doors open: 19.15h
You can call it chamber jazz, but the members of the North Sea String Quartet will be the last to try to limit their work by purely stylistic descriptions. As improvising string players, active in the Dutch and international music scene, they are influenced by jazz, classical, world and folk music. Four creative minds who combine their full potential and diverse musical backgrounds to create a unique sound and groovy performance. For their upcoming album, they experimented by improvising and composing a lot collectively. This turned out to be a good way to tap into each other’s backgrounds and ideas, in order to arrive at a new musical identity for the quartet as a whole. This resulted in brand new compositions that the quartet will now premiere to the public before recording them in the studio.
